Memoranudum to Vellore Mayor

Memoranudum  given  to Vellore Mayor  on the Problems on Ida Scudder Road
 is given below. Divisional Union and Vellore D.O  Unit Office bearers  met 
Smt P.Karthiyayini  and  briefed her the issues. She gave a patient hearing 
and assured to rectify the problems at the earliest

Respected  Madam,

Reg :  Request  to  Solve  Problems  in  the  Ida Scudder  Road.

We  congratulate  you  on  being  elected  as  the  Mayor  of  Vellore  Municipal  Corporation  and convey  our  Greetings  on behalf  of  Our  Organization.

We  would  like  to   bring to  your  knowledge  on the  hardship  faced by  us  in the  Ida Scudder  Road for  the  past  Four  Months.

The  underground  drainage  work  from  Murugan Koil, Saidapet  to  CMC  Hospital  was  taken up   nearly  Four  Months  back.  Since  then  our  normal   life  was  totally  disrupted. Our  L.I.C   Vellore   Divisional   Office   is  situated  opposite  Crown  Theatre  in  the  Ida Scudder  Road (Previously Arcot  Road). More  than  250  Employees  and  Officers  are  working  in  this  office.

Due  to  the  underground  drainage  work,  the  roads  are  totally  damaged  and  the  Employees  find  it  very  difficult  to  come  to  the  Office  as  there  are  pits  and  heap  of  soil  everywhere. The  Ida  Scudder  Road  is  already  congested  one  and  famous  for  frequent traffic jams  and  after  the  commencing  of  the  work, it  is  only  chaos.

Due  to  this,  coming  to  Office  has  become  a  nightmare  by  any  mode  of  transport. There  are  many  incidents  of  Persons  falling  from  Two Wheelers  due  to  bad  road  conditions. The  situation  is more  worse  during  rains  as  the  road  becomes  very much  slippery.

Persons  coming  by  Auto  are also  put  to  hardship  due  to  the  disturbance. Either  the  Autos  are  not  coming  or  charging  exorbitant  rates.  Due  to  all  these  problems,  the  Employees  could  not  come  to  Office  in  time  and  this  results  in  financial  loss  too.

It  is  not  the  problem  of  LIC  Employees  alone  and everyone  who  have  their  establishment  in  Ida  Scudder  Road  and  need  to  have  transaction  in  the  Ida Scudder  Road  meet  the  same  fate. Our  Policyholders  are  also  facing  it  difficult  to  come  to  Our  Office  and  servicing  is  very much  affected.

The  condition  of  the  Patients  coming  for  CMC  Hospital  is  very pathetic. We  also  like  to  inform  you  that  a  calf  was  caught  in  a  pit  08.11.2011  and  only  after  an  hour  long  struggle, it  was  rescued.  What  would  have  been  the  position  if  a  child  had  fallen  in  to  the  pit.

When  the  work  was  commenced  it  was  told  that  it  will  be  completed  within  one  month,  but  four  months  had  gone  and  with  the  snail  pace, We  do not  know  when  it  will  be  completed.

We  request  you  to  take  effective  steps  to  complete  the  Work  at  the  earliest  and  restore  smooth  traffic  in  the  Ida  Scudder  Road  and  relieve  us  from  the  ordeals .
