Shri D.K. Mehrotra,
Current-in-Charge,
LIC of India,
Central Office,
Mumbai.

Dear Sir,

Improvements in the Pension Scheme 1995

You might be aware that the Rajasthan High Court yesterday dismissed the Review Petition filed by LIC in the matter of earlier judgment of the Division Bench on issues relating to the improvements in the Pension Scheme 1995.

Earlier, when the Rajasthan High Court issued an Order to LIC to implement its resolution of November 2001, we requested the LIC to approach the Government and provide the improvements to the pensioners in the form of 100% neutralization to Pre 1997 retirees and also updation of pension as per the spirit of the resolution.

Now the Rajasthan High Court has come out with another order dismissing the Review Petition.  We are of the view that instead of carrying on the litigation further, LIC should approach the Government and provide the improvements to meet the genuine aspirations of the pensioners.

Hence, in the background of the latest Order of the Rajasthan High Court, we request you to immediately take up with the government and impress upon them to allow the benefit to the pensioners without further litigation in the matter.

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,
Sd .. (K.Venugopal)
General Secretary.
